Cropped Walling Stone is usually used with mortar and is used for stone cladding to walls. The stone comes in sizes varying from 100×100mm2 up 300×300mm2.

Depending on the method of building a tonne of cropped walling stone should cover between 2.5 m2 and 4m2.

Every cropped stone has at least one cut face and colours vary between pinks and greys.

Random Walling Stone

Random Walling Stone is specially selected uncut stone used primarily in the construction of dry stone walling. The stone comes in various sizes and thickness.

A tonne of random walling stone will build approximately 2m2 to 3m2 of wall.

As with the cropped walling stone the rock colours vary between pinks and greys.

Driveway Chippings, used for gravel drives, usually consist of 14mm clean stone. However 10mm and 20mm stone can also be used.

If the stone is spread to a thickness of 30mm to 40mm then a tonne of stone should cover an area of 15 m2 to 20 m2.

Concrete Ballast

125kg of cement mixed with a tonne of ballast will produce approximately half a cubic metre of general purpose concrete.
